What’s Cabernet Season like at the Historic Napa Mill?
Cabernet Season in Napa is a pretty special time of year. Starting at the end of harvest and running until the first blooms of mustard and spring touch the hills, during Cabernet season you wear warm sweaters, dodge raindrops, and enjoy a Napa with fewer crowds and a slower pace.
Artisan Wares (or is that Wears?)
You will find amazing little treasures at several shops located at the Historic Napa Mill.
Amelia's Gifts carries a unique selection of jewelry, scarves that are pieces of art, wonderful wine souvenirs and an awesome selection of bags.
At The Spa at Napa River Inn you can find your new favorite moisturizer or make-up, locally-conceived grape seed body products and other unique wraps or accessories.
But shopping and wine tasting need to be paired with great food.
Both restaurants at the Historic Napa Mill are long-time local favorites and top Napa dining. We couldn’t pick which place served a better cocktail, so you will have to visit both Angèle and Celadon and make your own decision. Angèle’s, well know for their French flair, melt in your mouth beef with heavenly sauces while Celadon serves comfort food with a global touch. You won’t go away hungry or disappointed.
Dessert — no matter when you enjoy it — can be found at Vintage Sweet Shoppe.
Handmade chocolates and candies that look *almost* too pretty to eat are featured. A fun gift item you can find here is a chocolate-dipped wine bottle.
Image how much someone would love getting their favorite Napa Valley wine covered in chocolate!
Don't miss one of the cutest little wine tasting spots tucked into a corner of the shop.
Speaking of too pretty to eat, if you have not seen the pastries, pies, cakes, and cookies at Sweetie Pies you are missing out! Once you see them you have to try them. You will then be hooked and will be back every day of your visit.
After all this fun, it’s a must to give yourself some of the pampering you deserve with a spa treatment at The Spa at Napa River Inn. With some of the highest reviews and great therapists, you can find the right massage or facial to rejuvenate your tired body.
Then, of course, you need to sink into a comfortable bed at the locally-owned Napa River Inn.
No corporate hotels for you. Just Napa. That is, after all, what you came to experience.
Don't Forget Wine Tasting!
The Napa General Store has an intimate wine tasting bar that offers a carefully curated sample of Napa Valley wines of all styles:
Sparkling wines, pinots, Sav blancs, syrahs, and the ever ubiquitous Cabernet Sauvignons.
Besides a wonderful al fresco breakfast and lunch spot, The General Store has a large selection of wine barrel furniture and accessories.
You might also pick up the best ever cheese board, or wine rack.
